Changelog #004: Power user insights

Community spotlight: power user tips

Hey folks! We've been chatting with some of our power users about how they use Moogle Reader, and we thought you'd appreciate hearing what's working for them.

What we learned

After talking with dozens of users, a few patterns emerged:

Consistency over intensity - Power users have consistent reading routines. They don't try to read everything at once—they have scheduled times for different types of content.

Quality over quantity - Every power user is selective about their feeds. They regularly prune unused feeds and carefully evaluate new additions.

Purpose-driven organization - Each user organizes their feeds around specific goals—professional development, creative inspiration, news analysis, or personal learning.

Real examples

Sarah (Product Manager) uses Smart Folders to automatically categorize content by reading time—quick updates in the morning, deep dives in the evening. She reads at the same times every day, so it becomes a habit.

Mike (Software Engineer) organizes feeds by learning objectives. Each folder represents a skill he's developing or a topic he's exploring. This keeps his reading focused and purposeful.

Jennifer (Creative Director) separates inspiration from education. Inspiration feeds go in her morning routine when she's fresh and creative. Educational content goes in the evening when she's ready to learn.

Common themes

  • Use reading time estimates to plan your sessions
  • Set up a "cooling off" period for new feeds—add them to a trial folder for 30 days before promoting them to your main reading list
  • Archive feeds you haven't read in 30 days
  • Use tags to create cross-cutting categories
