Changelog #003: Better feed organization
Better feed organization
Hey folks! We've been talking with users about how they organize their feeds, and we've learned a lot. Here are some quick tips that might help you get more out of Moogle Reader.
The three-bucket system
Most power users organize their feeds into three buckets:
- Hot feeds (daily reading) - Breaking news, daily newsletters, time-sensitive updates. Limit to 10-15 feeds max.
- Warm feeds (weekly reading) - In-depth analysis, educational resources, industry insights. 20-30 feeds works well.
- Cold feeds (monthly/as-needed) - Reference materials, occasional interests, archive-worthy content. No limit, but keep them organized.
Organize by reading time
Use our reading time estimates to plan your sessions:
- Coffee Break (5-10 minutes) - Quick news updates, short tips, industry headlines
- Lunch Break (15-30 minutes) - Medium-length articles, tutorials, industry analysis
- Evening Deep Dive (30+ minutes) - Long-form journalism, research papers, comprehensive guides
Use tags effectively
Tags let you create cross-cutting categories. Try tagging by:
- Content type (tutorial, analysis, news, inspiration)
- Reading priority (urgent, important, interesting, archive)
- Source quality (premium, emerging, established)
Pro tip
Don't try to read everything. If you haven't read a feed in 30 days, archive it. Quality over quantity always.
