Beacon v1.7 — Team roles & permissions

Inviting a teammate used to be all-or-nothing. Not anymore. Beacon v1.7 introduces team roles and permissions, so you can share exactly the right amount of access.

What shipped

  • Three roles: Admin (full control, including billing and members), Member (view and build reports, manage sites), and Viewer (read-only access to dashboards and shared funnels).
  • Per-site assignment: Grant someone Viewer on one site and Member on another — roles are scoped, not global.
  • Audit trail: Every role change and site addition is logged, so you always know who did what.
  • Pending invites: Invitees pick their own password; you never see or set it.

Roles work the same on Beacon Cloud and self-hosted installs. Existing collaborators were migrated to Member automatically, so nothing breaks — review and adjust anytime under Settings → Team. Full breakdown in the permissions guide.

What's next: a visual query builder for custom reports. This one's been a long time coming.

Tell us if the role model fits how your team actually works:
